Real suite layouts
The Homewood Suites Albany-Wolf Road offers the strongest true suite inventory in the region: one and two-bedroom layouts with full kitchens (real fridge, dishwasher, four-burner stove), a separate living room with a proper sofa, and a workable dining table. Ideal for families or long stays. The Residence Inn Albany Airport and Residence Inn Albany Downtown (on Broadway) are similar Marriott-side products; the downtown location is the pick if you don’t need a car.
The Hyatt House Albany Airport is newer than either Residence Inn and has the best-designed kitchens of the group — induction cooktops, good knife blocks in some units, more counter space.
Suite-labeled but not really
The Hilton Albany's 'suites' are junior suites — a slightly larger room with a small sitting area, no separate bedroom door, no kitchen. Fine for a splurge night, wrong for a family. Same story at the Renaissance Albany's executive suites and at the 74 State Hotel: they’re bigger rooms, not multi-room suites. If separation between sleeping and living space actually matters — you’re travelling with kids on different schedules, or one of you takes early calls — book Homewood or a Residence Inn and skip the downtown premium. Corporate rates at the Homewood run $135-155 nightly, cheaper than a Hilton king.
