Hotels with free parking in Albany
Hotel parking lot in Albany with snow-cleared spaces
Downtown Albany charges $25 to $35 a night for parking — here are the 8 hotels where it's genuinely free.
Where free parking actually exists
Downtown Albany parking is a racket: Hilton, Renaissance and Hampton Inn all charge $28 to $35 a night. To park free you need to head to Wolf Road, the airport corridor or across the river. Homewood Suites Albany-Wolf Road, Hyatt Place Albany-Airport, Courtyard Albany Thruway, Fairfield Inn Albany East Greenbush, and Holiday Inn Express Latham all include parking. Rates run $125 to $160 — saving roughly $200 on a five-night stay versus downtown.
The one downtown exception
The Morgan State House on Washington Park is the only central option with free on-site parking, and it's a genuinely lovely inn overlooking the park at around $175 a night. Rooms are small and the building shows its age, but for the location — walking distance to Lark Street restaurants and the Capitol — it's unbeatable. Book room 7 or 8 if you can; the park-facing ones. Skip the basement rooms.
